The Ministry of Social Development has asked us to run a programme for young people with mental health issues that are currently on the benefit. We have designed a pilot program which we are very excited to launch!
This new program will build on the kaupapa of Cultivate 1.0, but allows us to do what we do best (youth employment) without trying to manage a commercial venture at the same time. Our program will allow them to experience outdoor careers through working on farms, gardens, planting trees and one day trips. Based on our previous work, we know this will help them develop confidence, awareness and an understanding of work in the natural world.
